CBGB

Music club located in the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. It was founded by Hilly Kristal in December, 1973, and it closed in October, 2006. John Varvatos clothing store opened in its place in April, 2008.

Most commonly known as "CBGB", but the full name was "CBGB & OMFUG" (short for "Country Bluegrass Blues & Other Music For Uplifting Gormandizers").
